A while ago my husband and I were looking for an American restaurant near me. I had a long night shift at work and we were ready to order some food. Dixie was the only place on the bus route that we knew was open this early in the morning. We chose to go to that restaurant. So why did we walk out.
Customer service and rapport is important in the restaurant business. My husband and I should know we have both been in the industry for about twenty years. Sometimes too much customer service can be a problem. When a person is unable to read the menu or start a conversation without being interrupted then staff becomes a problem.
Perhaps that is the way Dixie is run as a business. Maybe the servers per table is because it was Sunday. Maybe we were not the right clients for that type of restaurant. The fact that when a client sits down at a restaurant they should not feel hurried to order. They should be able to take a sip of their coffee and quietly look at the menu. When asked to be left alone for a minute they should not be told “We help every staff member out”
After being interrupted five times in ten minutes, my husband got up and walked out the door. My husband overheard the management say “What happened to them?” when he was told what happened his response was “Oh well there will be others.”
Thank you Dixie for your response of not caring for your restaurant customers. We will gladly spend our money elsewhere. We’re glad we did because we found Kolachi’s just down the street. Of course this is not a restaraunt review for all of the Dixie house cafes. I personally look forward to doing restaurant reviews for all of the Dixie House Cafes.
