Traffic Worker needed in Fort Worth, Texas

Do you enjoy working in a fast paced environment and interacting with residents, contractors, and customers?  Would you like to improve the safety of the citizens and visitors to Fort Worth? 
The Traffic Management Division is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining the pavement markings, signs, traffic signals, and street lights for the City of Fort Worth.  The section is seeking a Traffic Services Worker to install, repair and maintain pavement markings and signs, and occasionally assist with traffic signal and street lights installations. 

Candidates must be able to work with minimal supervision and are required to have a High School diploma/GED.  No experience is required.  

Candidates must have an acceptable driving record and possess a valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License.  Preference will be given to candidates with an Associate Degree in a related field.   Preference will also be given to candidates with specialized certifications or experience in pavement markings, signs, traffic signals or street lights.  Candidates with computer software experience are also preferred.

The responsibilities of this position include the installation, repair, and maintenance of traffic control systems, specifically pavement markings and signs.  Candidates should have the ability to operate various specialized tools and equipment related to traffic control system maintenance.    The successful candidate will be required to work outside, during inclement weather, at night and on weekends for special events or emergency call-back, at heights of at least 30ft, and may also assist with traffic signal or street light work as required.
